Projects

In Lent term 2022, we are launching two introductory projects to 3D printing software. In these projects, participants will have the opportunity to work with other team members to learn, collaborate and refine skills in 3D printing software. Support will be available from our supervisors.

Check out a brief description of the projects below:

External Ventricular Drain (EVD) Project (in collaboration with NANSIG)

For this project, participants have the opportunity to develop a 3D printed stimulator for external ventricular drains (EVDs), a medical device used to treat and monitor neurosurgical patients with raised intracranial pressure (ICP). Check out the project website in collaboration with NANSIG (Neurology and Neurosurgery Special Interest Group) here for more information!

Phantom Limb Project

For this project, participants have the opportunity to model phantom organs using computer-aid design and create their own final products using 3D printing softwares. Skills for these software programmes are recommended but not required. Watch this space for more information!
